One honest caveat about HD Instagram download options: how much Instagram hands a signed-out request varies by post. Nearly all of them expose a full size list, and you get every option. A few older ones expose only the single size behind their share preview, and then there is one row instead of several. The file is still the real thing either way; there is simply nothing to choose between.

What quality do I get?
Whatever Instagram published, streamed through untouched. Options are listed largest first, so the top row is your HD Instagram download — the highest resolution and bitrate available.
An Instagram video downloader without watermarks is less a feature here than an absence: there is no branding step in the pipeline to switch off, and no frame is re-compressed on the way past.
A reel usually offers one option because Instagram often publishes only one rendition of it. A photo post typically offers several. Neither is upscaled — if the uploader posted a 604px-wide clip, 604px is the ceiling, whatever another tool claims.
Can I download a whole carousel?
Yes, item by item. Every item in the post gets its own card with its own sizes and its own buttons, so a ten-photo carousel gives you ten independent files. You can download Instagram reels and stills out of the same mixed post without taking the rest.
There is no download-all button. Files stream one at a time so nothing has to be zipped up on a server first — which is also why nothing of yours is ever stored here.
What about stories, highlights, and private accounts?
None of those work, by design. Instagram only serves stories, highlights, and private-account media to signed-in sessions, and this tool never signs in to anything.

Do I need an Instagram account or an app?

Is anything stored?
No media, ever. Every Instagram video download streams from Instagram's CDN through this server to your browser and is never written to disk. Post metadata sits in memory for about ten minutes so a repeat lookup does not hit Instagram twice, and then it is gone.
Routing through the proxy also means your browser never contacts Instagram for the file, so no referrer or fingerprint of yours reaches them.
Can I repost what I download?
Not without permission. The person who posted it holds the copyright, and a download button does not transfer that. Saving your own posts and keeping personal offline copies is the intended use.
